About Me:  I have been collecting records intensively for over 8 years. Over time, I have ended up with many albums which I don't need. I am selling these records in order to refine my collection and clear out some space.

The Basics:  Each record I am selling has been cleaned, carefully evaluated in bright sunlight for condition and placed in a new Diskkeeper 1.5 Inner Sleeve.

Grading is Goldmine (Cover/Vinyl) with 2 exceptions VG(+) indicates a record in between VG and VG+ and EX indicates a something between VG+ and NM.

Most of these records are Very Good Plus (VG+) which means that they have been used but not abused.  They will play without distracting pops, clicks or annoying background noise.  Most of these records come directly from private collections, were well-cared for and were not overplayed.  See my notes on grading at the bottom of the page.

I can provide more pictures and notes.gif (937 bytes)audio samples upon request.

Shipping/Handling:

A small handling fee is built into the shipping charges.  There are no additional fees.

Domestic USPS Media Mail Rates includes all handling fees:
1-2 LPs = $4.25
3-4 LPs = $5.25
5-6 LPs = $6.25

Priority Mail and other services are available and cost varies by location.

International Shipments via USPS First Class International Package.  Rates vary by location but average around $18.00 to Europe and Asia for 1 LP.  Canada runs a bit cheaper.

Payment:  I can accept Paypal & USPS Money Orders and cash for local pick up orders

How do I pack and ship the records?

I am pretty fussy about packing and shipping. Here is what I do and why:

1. For US shipments, I use USPS Media Mail w/delivery confirmation + if warranted insurance -- I spoke to a few different postal clerks about the service and they all told me that basically Media Mail is the same service as first class just discounted because it is media. I can't say for sure if this is so, but I have had no trouble with media mail and the cost savings is significant. If something is valuable and you don't have cash to burn, go media mail insured. I have not noticed a difference in shipping time between media mail and first class mail except to some off the beaten path destinations. Not so much total distance. In these cases, I believe first class and certainly Priority would get there more quickly.

2.  For International shipments, I use First-Class Mail® International Package.  If needed, for about $3.00 extra, insurance can be purchased through a reputable third party vendor, shipsurance.com.

3. Mailers -- I make my own mailers out of clean scrap cardboard boxes. They are easy to make and cost less than if I bought the boxes + there is the benefit of recycling and even more importantly extra corner protection -- I like to have plenty of space around the records so I can wrap them with tissue paper or bubble wrap and apply extra material to reinforce the corners or double box. Most mailers don't allow enough room for this. To make them you can open up a mailer and use it as a template adding an inch to the center square and adjusting from there. Here is a link to a thread at www.recordcollectorsguild.org with a discussion including an image of a template for the mailer.

When I re-use a store bought record mailer, I wrap a second layer of cardboard around them. Pizza boxes are better for their size in this but again I avoid buying cardboard when I can recycle it so easily. I do go through a lot of tape however. And I like to use strapping tape as well as packing tape. One of the folks with whom I trade called my packing Bomb Proof -- which made me proud!

I do remove the lp from the jacket for shipping and I never ship a record that has not been cleaned and placed in a new inner sleeve. Also, outter sleeves offer good protection for truly minty lp's but cost.

Well, that is my 3 cents. Best, Stephanie
